Playwright and performance artist Deb Margolin has been honored with an OBIE Award for Sustained Excellence of Performance, the Kesselring Playwriting Award, and the Helen Merrill Distinguished Playwright Award. She is a founding member of the groundbreaking Split Britches Theater Company, her solo work has been commissioned by distinguished venues including The Joseph Papp Public Theater, the Actors Theatre of Louisville, and PS122, and she is on the theater faculty at Yale, where she’s received the Richard H. Brodhead Prize for Teaching Excellence. Deb and I recently met at New Dramatists to talk about her iconic career and inspiration behind her new solo show.
